Destined Rivals is the tenth main expansion of cards for the Scarlet & Violet Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It continues the release of Trainer's Pokémon, with an emphasis on Team Rocket. Other confirmed Trainers include Cynthia, Ethan, Arven, Misty, Marnie, and Steven Stone.
Destined Rivals includes cards from the Japanese Hot Wind Arena subset, the Glory of the Rocket Gang expansion, and the two ex Starter Sets for Marnie's Morpeko & Grimmsnarl ex and Steven's Beldum & Metagross ex. The expansion includes 182 regular cards, with more than 240 cards total after secret cards are included. Cards from the expansion will be available before the release date starting May 16, 2025 in the Marnie and Steven Rival Battle Decks.
The expansion will include: 83 cards relating to Team Rocket, including more than 45 Team Rocket's Pokémon; more than 85 Trainer's Pokémon, including the aforementioned Team Rocket's Pokémon; 17 Pokémon ex, including 10 Trainer's Pokémon ex; more than 20 Trainer cards; more than 45 cards with special illustrations, including 23 illustration rare Pokémon cards and 11 special illustration rare Pokémon cards; and six hyper rare gold etched cards.
The booster pack artworks feature Giovanni and Mewtwo, Cynthia and her Garchomp, Ethan and his Ho-Oh, and various Team Rocket members and their Pokémon. The four artworks, and an additional Team Rocket-themed artwork, will be featured on the passes given for buying tickets to gamescom latam 2025. The organization posted images on February 19, 2025 ahead of the official reveal[1], only for them to be removed the next day.
